Ramphearth for Mac and Windows.

The desktop app keeps Ramphearth running in the background, so you hear about mentions and messages without a browser tab open, push-to-talk works while you're in another app, and people can see when you've stepped away.

A new app for the new name. If you used the Missived desktop app, it won't update itself to Ramphearth: download the Ramphearth app here, sign in again, then remove the old one. Your account, workspaces and messages are all still there.

What you need

Mac

macOS 12 Monterey or later. One download runs natively on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Open the .dmg and drag Ramphearth into Applications.

Windows

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.

Run the installer. It installs for your account only, with no administrator prompt.

iPhone and Android

Install Ramphearth from your phone's browser: open app.ramphearth.com and add it to your home screen. It opens full-screen and gets notifications (iPhone needs iOS 16.4 or later).

How to install it on a phone ↓

Linux

There's no desktop build for Linux yet. Ramphearth works fully in a modern browser at app.ramphearth.com.

On your phone

Ramphearth installs straight from the browser: no app store, about a minute. Then turn on notifications from inside the app.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open app.ramphearth.com in Safari.
  2. Tap Share (the square with an arrow), then Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  3. Open Ramphearth from the new icon and sign in there.
  4. Tap Turn on notifications and choose Allow.

Notifications need iOS 16.4 or later, and only reach the Home Screen app, never a Safari tab.

Android

  1. Open app.ramphearth.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap Install when offered, or ⋮ → Install app.
  3. Open Ramphearth from your home screen and sign in.
  4. Tap Turn on notifications and choose Allow.

Late notifications? Check the phone's battery saver: set Ramphearth and Chrome to Unrestricted.

Opening it the first time

These are early builds, and they aren't signed by Apple or Microsoft yet, so your computer will be cautious the first time you open Ramphearth.

Mac: if macOS won't open Ramphearth because it can't verify the developer, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway. You only need to do this once. For now, new versions on the Mac are installed by downloading again from this page.

Windows: if you see "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway. After that, Ramphearth keeps itself up to date.
